Balloon Flights
We’ve performed flight tests up to 30km altitude with balloons. High-altitude balloons currently provide a simple solution to work within the existing regulatory framework, while also providing a suitable test platform. We are testing long-range communication and navigation systems under real conditions, such as at extremely cold temperatures of minus 60 Degrees Celsius.
We are currently working on an upgraded balloon flight system for larger balloon payloads, whilst also creating new communications hardware and an upgraded payload test stack. View more about the “first kea to the stratosphere“.
